Fall & Trail Work Well Under Way

With fall in full swing and our first snowfall of the season we are well underway with our trail work. A special thanks to Dave for the 4 VAST approved junction signs and stands, this will be the second year that he took on this project and paid for it as well. We have been holding work parties every Sunday for the last 5 weeks and much of the larger task are done. With 64 bridges to maintain seems like every year there are a few to be re-decked. This year was no exception with 6 bridges being rebuilt. We welcome our new members to our work force; Rodger & Greg your help has been greatly appreciated.

A special thanks to VAST for helping us update our map which this year will include Gas, Food, Repair & Lodging. We also have confirmed our February 20th all day event. We will be releasing more information on the day’s events shortly and we plan on having a fun filed day with several activity’s for all young and old to enjoy. Our trail re-signing project is going well but will need to be finished during the upcoming season, hunting season is upon us and we want to respect the hunters in the area. Work parties will be held very Sunday until season opens to complete all needed task your helping hands would be welcome. We look forward to seeing you on our trails in just 52 days.

Bridge work is always in the cards before the season starts, the bridge on trial 112 was badly in need of re-decking. Along the trail we also found a half mile section of waterfalls that we took a brake to hike up and was amazed to see how it changed heading up the foot path along side of it.

The first snow of the season was welcome and another bridge on 9 heading towards the Guilford Trails was the focus of the work being done on 10/18. A special thanks to the crew of Carl, Ray, Mike, Sheldon, Rodger and other club members for your endless work for the club.

As the leaves fall we all are looking forward to the coming season, and the needed trail work will even make it better. Don't forget Early Bird TMA ends 12/15/15 and we have 3 locations to purchase them and also on line www.ezriders.org
