Anyone born after July 1, 1983, and who are 12 years of age and older, must complete a six-hour Snowmobile Safety Course recognized by Vermont. Exemptions: Children who are eight (8), nine (9), ten (10) and eleven (11) years of age are exempt from taking the snowmobile Safety course. These children may operate under the direct supervision of a parent or legal guardian who shall be liable for their actions. Children younger than twelve (12) years of age may attend a safety course but will not receive certification unless they are eleven years of age (at the time of the course) and turning twelve (12) years of age prior to the end of the snowmobile season (April 16).
